High Sensitivity Biotin-Binding Plates for Low-level Target Detection
Thermo Scientific Streptavidin and NeutrAvidin Protein Coated Plates make it easy to design your ELISAs. Biotin-binding plates are the ideal solution when direct adsorption to polystyrene plates denatures antibodies or the target molecule. Choose from our high-sensitivity, high-capacity or standard biotin-binding plate formats when designing your assay.
Pierce Streptavidin and NeutrAvidin Coated Plates are available in 96- and 384-well plate formats and pre-blocked with BSA or Thermo Scientific SuperBlock Blocking Buffers. These plates are available in clear, white and black plates for use with colorimetric, chemiluminescent and fluorescent detection methods, respectively.
Highlights:
- Sensitive – detect down to 5ng/ml of biotinylated IgG
- Specific – low background with high signal-to-noise ratios
- Versatile – use either fluorescence, chemiluminescence or colorimetric detection
- Robust – broad dynamic range
- Ready to use – plates are supplied pre-blocked to save time

About Pierce High Sensitivity Biotin-Binding Plates:
Pierce High Sensitivity Streptavidin and NeutrAvidin Plates are coated using proprietary surface activation technology to achieve maximum efficient coating of active biotin-binding proteins. Our high sensitivity plates enable detection of low concentrations (ng/ml) of biotinylated antibodies and other proteins. Whether detecting your signal by fluorescent, colorimetric or chemiluminescent methods, these plates make it easy to develop an ELISA for any sample with a low-level target.
Biotin-binding proteins Streptavidin and NeutrAvidin Protein are not glycosylated, preventing nonspecific lectin-binding observed with avidin-coated plates. Streptavidin has an isoelectric point (pI) of 5-6 and NeutrAvidin Protein has a near-neutral pI (6.3), resulting in low nonspecific interactions. Because NeutrAvidin Protein lacks the bacterial RYD sequence found in streptavidin, the NeutrAvidin Plates eliminate nonspecific binding caused by the RGD binding domain of adhesion receptors
present in a variety of cells.

Detect low concentrations of biotinlyated target molecules using Thermo Scientific High Sensitivity Coated Plates. Biotinylated rabbit IgG was incubated for 30 minutes in streptavidin-coated high sensitivity plates (HS) or streptavidin-coated standard binding capacity (SBC) microplates. Plates were washed three times with Tris-buffered saline and incubated with goat anti-rabbit IgG conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (100 ng/ml) for 30 minutes. Plates were washed and incubated with Thermo Scientific QuantaBlu Fluorogenic Peroxidase Substrate (Product # 15169). The fluorescent signal was measured at 430 nm. |
