Pierce S-Nitrosylation Western Blot Kit

A better way to detect S-nitrosylation

By Douglas Hayworth

Western blot kit for the S-nitrosocysteine post-translational modification.

Try our new Pierce S-Nitrosylation Western Blot Kit  to detect protein S-nitrosocysteine post-translational modifications. This kit improves upon the original biotin-switch method developed by Jeffrey, et al., which used biotin-HPDP to label S-nitrosylated proteins for subsequent Western blot detection via streptavidin-HRP conjugate.

The new Pierce kit uses an iodoacetyl-activated mass tag called “iodoTMT*” reagent to label S-nitrosylation post-translational modification sites. The kit includes an anti-TMT antibody (from mouse) to specifically probe the labeled proteins for subsequent detection via most user-supplied anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies and Western blot substrates.

Of course, if you prefer to use the traditional biotin-switch technique, we also offer HPDP-Biotin (Part No. 21341) and multiple varieties of Streptavidin-HRP.
