DyLight 650

Fluorescent dye properties, example data, product guide and references.

Thermo Scientific DyLight 650 replaces DyLight 649 to provide vibrant far-red fluorescence with comparable or improved performance compared to other dyes, including Alexa Fluor* 647 and Cy5*, for fluorescent applications. DyLight 650 dye has tight excitation/emission spectra that are ideal for multi-color applications. DyLight 650 dye is available as reactive labeling agents for custom labeling applications. DyLight 650-conjugated secondary antibodies and biotin-binding proteins are also available for use in fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, Western blotting, ELISA, high-content screening and other array platforms.

Improved fluorescent detection of lamin A and lamin B1 with DyLight 650 compared to Alexa Fluor 647 and Cy5 dyes
Thermo Scientific DyLight 650 dye produces intense fluorescent staining that is comparable to our retired DyLight 649 dye and brighter than other commercially available dyes. The nuclear envelope in A549 cells was fluorescently labeled with anti-lamin A (top row) or anti-lamin B1 (bottom row) primary antibodies and commercially available goat anti-mouse or anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibodies, respectively, that were conjugated to DyLight 650, the retired DyLight 649, Alexa Fluor 647 or Cy5 dye. All images were captured using identical microscopic and camera settings and were processed identically.

 

Improved fluorescent detection of vimentin with DyLight 650 compared to Alexa Fluor 647 and Cy5 dyes
Thermo Scientific DyLight 650 produces intense vimentin staining that is brighter than other commercially available dyes. Intermediate filaments in U2OS cells were fluorescently labeled with a monoclonal anti-vimentin antibody and commercially available goat anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody conjugated to Thermo Scientific DyLight 650, Alexa Fluor 647 or Cy5 dye. Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst dye. All images were captured using identical microscopic and camera settings and were processed identically.
