The Slide-A-Lyzer Dialysis Cassette membrane is composed of low-binding regenerated cellulose. The cassettes frames and silicone-like gasket are made from inert polymers. Both the membranes and cassettes materials are manufactured using clean-room conditions to ensure they are contaminant-free. Upon assemply, the membranes and cassettes are sealed together without the use of adhesives to protect sample from contaminants that might otherwise leach out.
Each Slide-A-Lyzer G2 Dialysis Cassette is engineered with a built-in air chamber to provide sample buoyancy and vertical orientation during dialysis. The new design include a serological pipette port for easy sample loading and removal. Two syringe sample ports are also available for adding samples to the cassette using a hypodermic needle attached to a syringe like previous models. In addition, the cassettes are free-standing, allowing minimal hands-on requirement when preparing to load or remove samples.
The Slide-A-Lyzer G2 Dialysis Cassettes allow samples to be directly injected with a syringe or with a pipette through the unique sample port. The Slide-A-Lyzer Cassette design allows air to be removed from inside the cassette to maximize the surface area-to-volume ratio, providing better dialysis performance than dialysis tubing and tube-based systems. The sample is easily recovered through either the pipette or syringe sample ports.
