Thermo Scientific Precise Tris-Glycine Gels are long shelf-life, fast run-time polyacrylamide gels for SDS-PAGE that use the popular Laemmli buffer system and commercial gel tanks to provide outstanding protein resolution and separation.
Precise Tris-Glycine Gels are cast in durable 10 x 10cm plastic cassettes to fit in Novex* XCell gel tanks. The gels are individually packaged in easy-to-open plastic pouches and are ready for electrophoresis with no comb or tape to remove. Following electrophoresis, the easy-open cassette design allows gels to be removed damage-free without special tools. Precise Gels in the 10 x 10cm size are available in gradient (4 to 20% and 8 to 16%) and fixed (8%, 10% and 12%) concentrations and in 10-well and 12-well formats.

Precise Tris-Glycine Gels were developed to work with the Laemmli Tris-glycine running buffer. Unlike other Tris-glycine SDS-PAGE gels, Precise Tris-Glycine Gels are cast in a neutral buffer system, which allows them to have a long shelf-life. Furthermore, Precise Tris-Glycine Gels can withstand the chemical changes caused by the Laemmli running-buffer that alter gel conductivity and increase run-times in other Tris-glycine gels. As a result, Precise Tris-Glycine Gels allow users to achieve excellent protein resolution in a shorter time.
Comparison of 4-20% gradient Tris-glycine gels. The same set of protein samples (MW markers, pure proteins, cell lysates) were separated and then stained on a 4-20% Thermo Scientific Precise Tris-Glycine Gel and a 4-20% Novex Tris-Glycine Mini Gel. The Precise Gel provided band resolution over a greater portion of the gel height.
