Thermo Scientific Pierce Spin Cups and Spin Columns are convenient tools for manipulating small volumes of affinity supports (5 to 500µL) for protein purification.
Simply add the affinity resin and sample to one of the affinity columns, then use a microcentrifuge to efficiently wash away contaminants and elute your purified sample without losing any resin in the process. Spin columns allow you to affinity purify more protein in less time.
Highlights (for IP and Co-IP):
- Efficient washing of samples means fewer washes are needed to remove contaminating proteins
- Efficient elution of samples means more antigen and co-precipitated proteins are recovered
- No resin loss means more consistent IP and co-IP results
- Decanting supernatant from IP or co-IP pellet is not necessary
- Spin protocols drastically reduce the time required for IPs and co-IPs
- Low protein binding polypropylene column construction minimizes nonspecific binding
Applications:
- Affinity purification or affinity chromatography
- Immunodepletion
- Immunoprecipitation (IP)
- Co-immunoprecipitation (co-IP)
