A biotin-free and serum-free blocking buffer with excellent stabilizing properties.
Thermo Scientific SuperBlock Blocking Buffers are optimized PBS and TBS solutions containing a protein that provides incredibly fast and effective blocking for ELISA, IHC and Western blot analysis.
Blocking microplates, membranes or tissues with a SuperBlock Buffer yields a high signal-to-noise ratio in most detection systems. The protein-based formulation does not contain any immunoglobulins, albumin or endogenous biotin, making it compatible in many situations where traditional blocking agents fail. The buffer is especially effective at blocking coated polystyrene microplates (96-well plates) and stabilizing them for drying and storage for later use.

Product Details:
Thermo Scientific SuperBlock Blocking Buffer in PBS is better than milk for sensitive detection of target proteins. HeLa cell lysate (20, 10, 5, 2.5, 1.25, 0.625 and 0.3125µg) was separated by SDS-PAGE, and transferred to nitrocellulose (Panels A-C, Part No. 88014) or PVDF (Panels D-E, Part No. 88585) membrane. Membranes were blocked for one hour using 5% non-fat milk in Tris-buffered saline with 0.05% Tween*-20 Detergent or SuperBlock Blocking Buffer in phosphate-buffered saline with 0.05% Tween-20 Detergent. Membranes were probed for the indicated targets. Blots were incubated in Thermo Scientific SuperSignal West Pico Chemiluminescent Substrate (Part No. 34080) for 5 minutes and exposed to film (Part No. 34091).
