The Thermo Scientific Pierce Microdialyzer System 100 is an apparatus that offers a quick, simple method for small-volume sample desalting or buffer exchange.
The Microdialyzer System consists of an acrylic device designed to hold a sheet of pre-framed dialysis membrane (sold separately) so that as many as 12 samples (each 20 to 100µL) can be dialyzed against a constant flow of buffer. The unit is equipped with a lid to prevent evaporation of the sample, and a unique inlet/outlet system for easy buffer exchange. The design minimizes protein loss and provides excellent sample recovery. A continual flow of buffer can be used to maintain a very high concentration gradient and achieve very rapid, uniform and complete dialysis.
Highlights:
- Validated for use with compatible pre-framed dialysis sheets, available in two molecular-weight cutoff designations: 3K and 50K
- Integrated lid eliminates the possibility of evaporation during dialysis
- Dialysate chamber includes a magnetic stir bar to increase dialysis efficiency
- Reusable and replaceable valves and fittings enable adaptation to a variety of uses
- One-way valve system provides efficient regulation of buffer exchange
- Design allows access to dialysate chamber and channels air bubbles to a vent valve
Applications:
- Purifying membrane proteins
- Removing protein modification reagents and crosslinkers
- Removing oligosaccharides from protein solutions
- Dialyzing prior to electrophoresis
- Exchanging, collecting, and/or analyzing buffer during dialysis
