Conjugate hydroxyl compounds via an isocyanate reactive group.
Thermo Scientific Pierce PMPI is a maleimide-and-isocyanate crosslinker for attaching compounds to sulfhydryl groups (cysteines) after conjugating the linker to hydroxyl groups on a molecule by urethane (carbamate) bonds.
Maleimide reacts with -SH groups at pH 6.5-7.5, forming stable thioether linkages
Isocyanate reacts with –OH groups to form a carbamate link at pH 8.5
Excellent tool for conjugating –OH group-containing compounds such as steroids and vitamins
Novel sulfhydryl- and hydroxyl-reactive heterobifunctional crosslinker
Reactive groups: maleimide and isocynate
Reactive toward: sulfhydryl and hydroxyl groups
