Thermo Scientific Pierce Gamma Globulins are mixtures of fragments and whole molecules of immunoglobulin G (IgG) from goat, mouse, human, rat and rabbit serum sources.
These gamma globulins are purified by delipidation of normal sera using salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography. They are an inexpensive source of IgG with only trace amounts of other immunoglobulin and non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. The IgG fractions are useful as qualitative or quantitative protein standards and as blocking agents in certain immunodetection methods.
