Thermo Scientific EZ-Link Photoactivatable Biotin is a nitrophenyl azide biotin compound that forms covalent bonds with molecules upon activation by exposure to ultraviolet light.
We no longer recommend this product because a newer, more effective photoreactive biotinylation reagent is available. TFPA-PEG3-Biotin (Part No. 21303) has a more efficient reactive group and a more soluble and a flexible spacer arm.
Highlights:
- Covalent attachment occurs in the presence of UV light (350-370nm)
- Attachment is nonspecific; can even replace C-H bonds or C-C bonds
- Should be dissolved in water or 0.1 M EDTA, pH 8 before use
- Reaction buffer should be above pH 6.0

Applications:
