Nitrocellulose-coated glass slides for protein microarray development.
The PATH* Protein Microarray Slide features an ultra-thin nitrocellulose coating for the non-covalent, yet irreversible, capture of active proteins to the surface. Nitrocellulose is a well-known and proven platform for immunoassay applications, including tissue lysate, antigen, direct and sandwich ELISA arrays. The PATH Slide is the first protein microarray slide to provide the many benefits of nitrocellulose in a thin film that allows very low background fluorescence and excellent signal-to-noise ratios.
The PATH Slide can be used for a variety of assays, such as sandwich immunoassays, capture immunoassays, protein profiling, and protein characterization. Guidelines are provided for a typical fluorescence-based sandwich immunoassay; however, optimization may be necessary for specific experimental systems. These slides are provided ready to use and contain an etched barcode and accompanying numbers that allows easy identification of the printable side.
Highlights:
- Low background and increased dynamic range – proprietary ultra-thin nitrocellulose offers enhanced signal-to-noise ratios
- Excellent stability and shelf life – ambient shipping and storage
- Standard slide format – works with all commonly available slide format microarray readers

Low fluorescence coating provides better performance for fluorescent microarray assays. Fluorescence scans of blank PATH Protein Microarray Slide and conventional nitrocellulose slide illustrates an advantage of ultra-thin nitrocellulose films. Blank slides were scanned using identical parameters (543 nm Cy3* Fluor setting; Scanarray* 4000 Imager (PMT=90. Gain=75); QuantArray* Software; 500 evenly spaced circles.
